- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆This is a nice conservation area on the Saugeen River. There are two main hiking travel, neither of which are all that long, but to one on the northern end of the park is surprisingly diverse in wild life. From stumps with tiny moss communities that have some of the smallest snails we've ever seen, to the creek that with so many small fish in it that you can put a water proof camera in the creek to catch a picture of them, or let them nibble on your fingers. We even saw a crayfish swimming along and hiding between rocks. Horseback camping - it should certainly be noted that this conservation area has horse camping, a unique feature for sure. They also have an extensive series of horseback riding trails worth checking out. Seasonal Trailer Camping - there is quite the little camper trailer community in the heart of this campground. The campers are polite and friendly and help keep things moving along. Campsites - the tent Campsites can very quite a bit in size and shape, so check out the pictures on their website first. Some are very small and some are quite reasonable. The firepit consists of a tire rim, without a grate, so bring your own grate if you were expecting one to be there. One plus on this place is that i didn't see a single but of poison ivy anywhere there at all. We enjoyed checking it out for some late season camping and may visit again in the future.By Jamison Van Dyke, December 28, 2016
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆We booked here in July. The campsite itself was absolutely disgusting. Packed in like sardines beside four other campsites. I would not go here if it was free. Don't waste your gas driving here. Better to stay home. And we did not stay but turned around and left after also seeing the filthy bathrooms. The conservation area would not give us a single penny back.By andrea kaddour, December 10, 2016
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆Came here last year as a walk in. Had no problems. But the system and service on booking is absolutely disgusting. Booked 3 weeks prior to arrival date, was passed down to 2 people until someone was able to properly assist me. I asked several times if I was able to cancel the one site for full refund as I booked two and I probably wouldn't need them both. He told me there was a 12.25 dollar non refundable charge because I booked on the phone as a precaution in case I cancelled. I wasn't too happy about that but okay understandable, gave them my credit card info and got the confirmation- which was originally sent to the wrong email. When I called back in a week to cancel the one I didn't need, they told me they would refund me through a CHEQUE and they would charge me $9 for basically a cancellation fee... no one told me about the $9's on top of the $12.25. Dale, the reservation lady, kept emphazing that the charges were explained on the confirmation email (That I received after they charged me, after I tried to make sure there would be a full refund). She refunded me the full amount in the end, except they charged me $12.25 per site... which again wasn't specified. After complaining about it to Dale and telling her no one had told me about the second 12.25 charge, that if that was the case I would have just called back to make sure I didn't need that second site. She just said she would make sure that the men at paisley were informed of this mistake. 2 weeks prior to a reservation, when they still have plenty of room, & with many errors on their part -- they won't try to own up and make things right and even offer to refund me the $12.25. Very greedy, unprofessional, faulty company. I will NEVER be coming back. They ate $25 for basically nothing. And they wanted to eat more. And giving cheques back on a credit card? Hilarious. CHEAP. && UNORGANIZED. They have no activities on the property themselves so. Don't be stupid like me and travel so far for basically throwing money in the garbage with this horribly managed place.By Liaa Kim, November 10, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Really nice. Great campground an accessible campsites dedicated for canoe campers. Nice camp store. Washrooms need some work.By Jeff Ohlhausen, September 14, 2016
